HOW TO APPLY

Steps Dance Studio holds auditions for scholarships annually during its Summer Dance Workshop. In very special cases if a child shows great promise, they may be invited to join the scholarship program by Steps director Sofia Zobel-Elizalde.

Interested applicants may also request to audtion by sending a letter of intent.

Other Benefits received by Steps scholars

• Scholars receive top quality training in classical ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance. Scholars are expected to become part of the Steps Dance Project, Steps' in-house organization that gives performances in special external projects.

• The foundation subsidizes the fees needed to take the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams for students receiving the full scholarship. RAD is an international organization that provides examination certificates in classical ballet training.

• The foundation sponsors scholars that join local and international dance competitions.

• Recently, it has created a new award that is given to deserving scholars to avail of an Intensive Summer dance program abroad. This year, the Steps Scholarship Foundation fully subsidized three students and a teacher in attending summer dance programs in prestigious dance schools in England.
